Chinese search engine firm Jike.com on Thursday denied reports that it is in talks with Web security provider Qihoo 360 Technology Co Ltd to receive investment from Qihoo.
"Our cooperation with Qihoo remains in the product area, no financial affairs are involved," Jike.com said in an e-mailed reply to China Daily.
Jike.com and Qihoo jointly announced plans on Thursday to provide information about counterfeit medicines released by authorities.
After that, reports emerged saying that Qihoo may invest in Jike.com, in a bid to challenge Baidu Inc, the nation's dominant search engine.
Jike.com was jointly set up by newspaper People's Daily and listed company People's Daily Online in 2010. The website offers news search, picture search and location-based services.
