China Construction Bank Corp, the world's third-largest lender by market value, offered about $300 million for Rabobank Groep NV's Indonesian unit, said a person with direct knowledge of the transaction.
The Beijing-based bank has submitted a non-binding offer in the first round of bidding for the assets, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the information is private. Spokesmen for China Construction Bank and Rabobank declined to comment.
