HK stocks end down 0.54%

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 124. 23 points, or 0.54 percent, at 22,782.44 on Friday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 22,850.25 points and 22,674.59 points during the day's session. Turnover totaled 65. 47 billion HK dollars (about $8.44 billion) compared with Thursday's HK$81.14 billion.
China Enterprises Index fell 109.09 points, or 0.95 percent, to end at 11,317.13 points.
Three of the four sub-indices lost ground, with the Commerce & Industry sub-index falling the most at 0.72 percent, followed by the Finance at 0.62 percent, the Properties at 0.1 percent, while the Utilities added 0.44 percent.
Banking giant HSBC lost 0.18 percent to close at HK$84.95. China Mobile, China's dominant mobile carrier lowered 0. 17 percent at HK$85.75.
Mainland lenders listed in Hong Kong plunged. ICBC, China's largest bank by market value, fell 1.08 percent to close at HK$5.49; CCB, the country's second largest lender by market capitalization, lost 0.79 percent at HK$6.29; BOC, one of the "big four", lost 1.62 percent at HK$3.65.
For local property developers, Sun Hung Kai, HK's largest property developer by market value, ended down 1.08 percent at HK$119. 30; Cheung Kong properties, owned by billionaire Li Ka-shing, retreated 0.34 percent to HK$118.90.
PetroChina, the country's largest oil and gas producer, went up 0.38 percent to HK$10.70. Sinopec, China's top refiner, ended down 0.46 percent to HK$8.76. CNOOC lost 1.16 percent to HK$15.36.
China Life, one of the world's largest life insurers by market value, dropped 0.65 percent at HK$23.10. Ping An, another Chinese insurer, went down 0.77 percent to HK$64.45.
