BEIJING -- Guidance that specifies the key products and services in China's seven strategic emerging industries was published by the country's top economic planner Thursday.
China's strategic industries include energy-saving and environmental protection, information technology, biology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, new materials and new-energy vehicles.
The catalogue for guidance, published by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), covers about 3,100 goods and services in 125 sub-categories of the seven sectors. It is designed to guide the work of departments at different levels and local governments, according to a commission notice.
The NDRC said it will make timely updates to the catalogue to keep pace with new developments in the sectors.
China's Cabinet issued a development plan last year to promote the seven strategic emerging industries and stressed their significance for maintaining long-term and steady economic growth amid the country's economic slowdown.
