Over 600 new TV series to be shown in TV event

More than 600 new TV series will be shown during the upcoming 12th Beijing TV Program Exchange Conference, authorities said on Monday.
The conference, the former Capital TV Program Promotion Conference, will be held in Huairou district, Beijing, from March 31 to April 1, said Ding Baizhi, deputy head of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film and Television.
At the conference, 490 domestic TV plays, 40 cartoon TV series, 63 documentaries and 23 new series produced by overseas companies will be on shown.
The conference will provide an exchange platform for those TV programs, and international forums on the TV industry will be held in Huairou district.
For the first time, this year's Beijing TV Program Exchange Conference will include an awards ceremony to give prizes to workers in the TV program field for their performance in the past year, Ding said.
The awards will focus on the directors and play writers and of the future, and it will become a tradition during the annual TV program exchange conference, she said.
The conference, launched since 2007, has become an important platform for TV program exchanges and cooperation.
