Integrity vital for China's art auction market

The company's newest measure is to team up with the Association of Accredited Auctioneers (Triple A). The association, set up last year in the UK, is made up of 21 auction house members, some of which have a history of 200 to 300 years.
Seth Freeman, committee member of A.H. Baldwin & Sons Ltd, a numismatic auction house in the UK, said at the International Auctioneers Forum that a company could not last more than 150 years without being honest. The auction house dates back to the year of 1872 and is one of the 21 members of the Triple A association.
Beijing-based Huachen Auctions Co Ltd will hold the country's first free port auction on April 21 in Xiamen, Fujian province and will put on auction 350 lots of antiques collected by the Triple A association.
