Property market boosts TV sales

A surging property market boosted China's television sales by 43 percent in the first quarter, Shanghai Securities Daily reported on Friday.
The number of television sets sold in China in the first quarter hit 12.38 million, 43 percent up from the same period last year. LCD TV, the mainstay television sold in China, registered a 49 percent sale surge to 11.69 million. The value of sales reached 39.3 billion yuan ($6.3 billion), up 45 percent.
Analysts said the surge is expected to continue.
China's home turnover in the first quarter jumped 41.2 percent year-on-year, while the value of sales soared by 69 percent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
