China's three major non-commercial banks announced a net profit of 81.2 billion yuan for 2012, according to their annual reports released last Friday.
The China Development Bank's net profit rose by 38.4 percent from one year earlier to 63.1 billion yuan. The Agricultural Development Bank of China registered a net profit of 14.3 billion yuan, while that of the Export-Import Bank of China reached 3.8 billion yuan.
The total assets of CDB increased by more than 20 percent year-on-year to 7.52 trillion yuan, doubling the total assets of the other two.
The Agricultural Development Bank reported the biggest increase in net profit, as its earnings surged by 110.8 percent, attributable to loan growth and a jump in income from charging for loans as lending interest rates increased.
