BEIJING - The Ministry of Commerce disagrees with the depiction of China's business environment in a report released by the World Bank, spokesman Yao Jian said on Thursday.

The report, publicized in October of 2012, compared business regulations and implementation in 185 countries and regions, among which China ranked 91st.

Yao said the report could help China build a better business environment fitting "the world standard, the rules of the World Trade Organization and more benefits for enterprises".

He also pointed out some inaccurate facts in the report, which failed to fully consider the economic situation of developing countries when setting indicators and choosing samples.

The spokesman said the report distorted the facts of China's economic development.

"China has attracted more foreign investment than other developing countries for 20 consecutive years," Yao added. "The favorable economic performance of the world's second-largest economy has undoubtedly been supported by its business environment."
