Crude steel output up 6.8% year-on-year in April

China's crude steel output in April reached 65.65 million metric tons, up 6.8 percent year-on-year, but down 1 percent month-on-month, custeel.com, a major domestic industrial information platform, said on Wednesday.
For the first four months, China's total crude steel output was about 2.58 trillion tons, an 8.4 percent increase compared with the same period of last year, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The daily output of the domestic steel companies during the last 10 days of April was about 2.13 million tons, up 0.61 percent compared with the previous 10 days, which is a record-high daily output, said the China Iron and Steel Association.
