China International Capital Corporation Managing Director Han Weiqiang said that Qingdao would benefit from the establishment of a diversified financing and investment system and the further development of its ocean industry.
Han said fixed-asset investment in the coastal city in Shandong province totaled more than 400 billion yuan ($65.1 billion) in 2012. Reducing risks and diversifying the city's investment and financing channels would have an important role to play.
Qingdao has an advantage in its ocean industry, so the development of the port of Qingdao is important.
Han said that the port's role has grown as the nation's trade volume has increased, said Han.
Qingdao has a good location, abundant resources and a good economic basis, Han added.
