Official urges good faith in tourism industry

BEIJING - China's tourist industry has been urged by a senior official to promote practices of good faith.

Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the comment during a four-day inspection tour, that ended on Monday, in south China's Guangdong and Hainan provinces.

When visiting Hainan, a popular tourist destination, Liu urged for the establishment of a credit system in the industry and to seriously punish acts such as misrepresentation in advertisements and fraud.

Liu visited local enterprises and neighborhoods in the two provinces to inspect the development of the cultural industry and community-based public services as well as the efforts to promote ecological progress and the protection of historical and cultural heritages.

During his tour, Liu stressed the promotion of the "Chinese dream," characterized as a great rejuvenation of the nation.

He also called on officials and the public to enhance confidence in socialism with Chinese characteristics and converge "positive energies" to realize the "Chinese dream."
