Xinjiang trade gets diversification boost

The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region's foreign trade has diversified, as the region strengthens its efforts at exploring emerging markets, Jiang Yaoping, vice-minister of commerce, said on Tuesday.
From January to April, the value of Xinjiang's foreign trade reached $7.24 billion, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.
Xinjiang's foreign trade has also been stimulated by the China-Eurasia expo, which has provided a platform for Chinese enterprises to explore and promote trade with countries in Asia and Europe.
The third China-Eurasia expo is to be held in Urumqi from for five days from Sept 2.
