China UnionPay to launch promotion involving more than 10,000 stores

China UnionPay announced on May 30 that it will launch a series of promotions in June that will include more than 10,000 stores in China, including online ones, that will give special offers and discounts to UnionPay card holders.
The monthlong promotions will include various consumption categories, including tourism, shopping, entertainment and dining.
China UnionPay cards are now accepted in networks in more than 140 countries and regions across the globe.
China’s bank card transactions in the first quarter totaled 100.27 trillion yuan ($16.35 trillion), a 19.34 percent year-on-year increase, according to the People’s Bank of China.
