KIEV - Ukraine and China have great prospects of cooperation in agriculture, trade, machine building and metallurgy, a business leader told Xinhua Thursday.
Konstantin Ivanov, head of Chernigov regional Chamber of Commerce, has brought home several cooperation agreements with China in the agricultural sector after a visit to Wuxi city in east China's Jiangsu province.
Ivanov said Ukraine signed a contract to purchase confectionery cocoa powder from China, and talked about the possibility of supplying milk powder to China for its production of ready-packaged cocoa beverages.
Ukraine also aims to increase farm product exports to China, including wheat, corn, soybeans, vegetable oil, milk powder and starch, he said.
During his visit, the two sides also discussed the possibility of cooperation in trade, machine building and metallurgical sectors, he said.
"We see an opportunity to build long-term relationships with the Chinese partners in the areas of investment and creation of joint ventures," Ivanov said.
