TOKYO - Nikkei opened 2.64 percent lower Thursday morning.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 351. 09 points from Wednesday at 12,938.23 after falling to as low as 12,901.59.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 24.49 points, or 2.23 percent, at 1, 072.05.
