The Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission said in a joint statement released on Tuesday that entry-exit inspection and quarantine fees will be removed from export cargos, transportation vehicles, containers and other items subject to inspections and quarantines from Aug 1 to Dec 31.

After the fee exemption, expenditures of the entry-exit inspection and quarantine institutions will come from the central budget.

Meanwhile, the financial management system of the entry-exit inspection and quarantine institutions will be scrutinized, according to the statement.

The State Council rolled out the measures to boost trade, including simplifying clearance through customs and reducing operation and management charges, in late July after export and import growth eased in the first half of this year.
