American Airlines said on Thursday it plans to launch two new non-stop services from Shanghai and Hong Kong to Dallas, the carrier's largest hub.
If approved, the new routes will start next summer.
The airline plans to use Boeing 777-200 aircraft with three classes on the route between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Dallas.
"We have had a longstanding ambition to increase American's presence in the China market," said Erwan Perhirin, the airline's managing director of Asia Pacific.
The airline currently operates three routes between China and the US.
