China Fortune Land Development Co Ltd, a Shanghai-listed company, signed a strategic cooperation with two Hollywood companies on Dec 10 to promote industry standards and contribute to the rapidly growing domestic film and online video industries through the establishment of a new media industrial park, Xinhuanet reported on Dec 16.
According to Xinhua, executives from LA-based education enterprise Relativity Education and award winning visual effects and animation house Base FX, appeared with executives from CFLD at the Dachang Film and Media Industrial Park. Guests and investors from Chinese film and media companies, talent agencies and domestic film institutes also attended the event.
"Echoing the rapid development of China's entertainment industry in recent years, attention has turned to fostering the growth of movie and TV talent as well as advancing elements of post-production and special effects," said Hu Zhenyu, vice-president of CFLD.
According to Hu, by creating an industrial park that welcomes both established companies and aspiring entrepreneurs, the Dachang Film and Media Industrial Park will create new opportunities that will add value to the industry.
According to a news release from CFLD, the industrial park, which is situated 30 kilometers to the east of Beijing's Central Business District, includes eight functional zones for talent development, innovative workshops, high-tech production houses, post-production and special effects shops, digital experiences and set design housing, R&D, and themed experiences.
As the only international training school in China anchored by a Hollywood studio, Relativity Education will offer a complete movie and media curriculum that focuses on training international screenwriters, directors, and producers. Experienced teachers from the United States specializing in media training will create tailor-made courses. Hollywood experts and creative talent will also be invited to teach classes and workshops.
