China is setting the global benchmark for women in business with the Hurun Report identifying 49 self-made Chinese billionaire women, out of 73 in the world.
According to the world authority on personal wealth, "Touchscreen Queen" Zhou Qunfei storms straight in at No 1 with $7.8 billion. The 45-year-old entrepreneur, pretty much an unknown this time last year, pips "Beijing Real Estate Queen" Chen Lihua, 74, with $7.7 billion, to become the most successful business woman in the world.
The highest non-Chinese was US-based "Blood-Testing Queen" Elizabeth Holmes, 30, of consumer healthcare technology company Theranos. Holmes was the youngest self-made billionaire on the list.
Eight of the top 10 richest self-made women in the world are from China.
