Xiaomi and China Mobile launched the Redmi 1 in 2013 and Redmi 1 sales hit 22.07 million units in a total, and the two companies launched the Redmi Note 1 in 2015 and final sales hit 27.53 million units.
Li Huidi, vice president of China Mobile said the company hopes it will be able to sell 30 million smartphones for Xiaomi within this year, including the new arrival Redmi Note 4. He did not reveal how many the company has sold as of this date.
Di Jin, research manager of IDC China said the cooperation with China Mobile will help Xiaomi sell more devices "to a very large extent" as the carrier has a very large network which will definitely boost Xiaomi's exposure in low-tier cities and the carrier could resort to multiple promotions including 4G service subscription subsidies.
