NANCHANG - One people died and 39 others were injured after a coach overturned in East China's Jiangxi province, firefighters said Sunday.
The accident occurred around 2 am on a section of the Fuyin expressway, which links the city of Fuzhou in East China's Fujian province with Yinchuan in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Fifty-nine people were in the vehicle, which has a designed capacity of 55 people, the firefighters said.
The injured have been sent to nearby hospitals, although their condition is not yet known.
Rescuers said slippery road conditions resulting from persistent rain and snow over the past few days may have caused the accident.
A further investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
