Chow will try to change his schedule to attend the meetings on Thursday, said his secretary, quoted by the Southern Metropolis Daily.
Chow is one of the 978 members of the 11th Guangdong committee of the CPPCC, a political advisory body. His membership has triggered widespread debate over the role he can play and whether he can perform his duties well.
The committee is scheduled to meet in Guangzhou, the provincial capital, from Wednesday to Monday.
