The world's tallest Buddha statue is being built in Xingzi county, Jiangxi province, and is expected to be completed this week. The statue is located at Donglin Temple and is thus called the Donglin Buddha. It is 48 meters in height and is a statue of Amitabha Buddha, the construction foreman said, and it is the first outdoor bronze Buddha in China.
