Shaanxi acting governor vows to raise incomes

Deputies to Shaanxi provincial People's Congress have been told one of the main goals of the province's economic and social development in the next five years is to increase incomes of urban and rural people.
The pledge was delivered on Sunday at the Congress' ongoing conference by Lou Qinjian, acting governor.
The province will launch more projects to better people's living conditions, and further improve the basic social security system for every urban and rural resident, Lou said.
The acting governor added that the province will also promote higher quality employment for local people, and strive to raise incomes through economic development.
It will also promote ecological protection and control and lessen pollution, to improve the environment.
