4 dead, 24 injured in N China pile-up

TAIYUAN - Over fifty vehicles were caught in a pile-up on an expressway in north China late Sunday, leaving four people dead and 24 injured, local authorities said.
The accident occurred around 9 p.m.on a snow-covered section of Wenxi-Yuanqu highway in Huafeng township of Yuanqu county, Shanxi province. Four people were killed at the spot while the 24 injured have been sent to local hospitals, government sources said.
The sources previously said over 80 vehicles were involved in the pile-up.
The accident has led to a temporary closure of the section linking Yuanqu county to neighboring Henan province.
