BEIJING - Chinese police on Tuesday transferred an embezzlement suspect of Republic of Korea (ROK) nationality to ROK authorities in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
Han Sang Ho has allegedly embezzled one billion won (about 919,000 U.S. dollars) and was caught by Chinese police at the end of December, 2012, the Ministry of Public Security said.
The Chinese police decided to transfer the criminal suspect to the ROK side after investigation.
The capture and transfer of Han marked achievements by both sides in cracking down on transnational crimes, the ministry said.
In recent years, both countries have carried out close and effective cooperation, with many criminal suspects repatriated from both sides, according to the ministry.
