BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held telephone talks on Thursday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov over the latest nuclear test conducted by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The two senior diplomats also exchanged their views on the current situation on the Korean Peninsula and agreed to stay in close contact on the issue.
The DPRK conducted its third nuclear test on Tuesday despite opposition from the international community, saying the nuclear test was done for self-defense and as part of the countermeasures against hostile U.S. policies.
