An official in Shanxi province was punished after an online post revealed that he had a luxurious office with a bedroom.

He Haichang, director of Lyuliang city's administration of grain, received administrative disciplinary record faults as punishment for the luxurious office, the city's disciplinary authorities said late Thursday.

An online post with seven photos showed that he had a large office with a bathroom and a bedroom with a double bed.

The sofa in the office cost more than 30,000 yuan ($4,800), the post said.

His office was being rented in a commercial building after the demolition of the grain administration's building, said the commission for discipline inspection of the Party's Lyuliang city committee, according to a China News Service report.

The commission found that He's office was 79 square meters. Regulations state that officials at his level can only have an office smaller than 20 sq m.

The furniture cost 26,100 yuan, the commission said.
