Central Military Commission honors missile brigade

BEIJING - China's top military body on Monday honored a missile brigade affiliated with the Second Artillery Force of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC), signed an order to give a Class I Merit Citation to the brigade, which was not identified.
According to a statement from the CMC, the brigade has performed more than 10 major tasks and participated in National Day military reviews twice in its 20-year history.
The brigade has successfully launched more than 100 missiles, the most among the missile brigades of the Second Artillery Force, the statement said.
The brigade has received additional recognition from military authorities for its outstanding performance, according to the statement.
