Chow's movie rakes in $158.8m at box office

Huayi Brothers Media Group, the distributor of Stephen Chow's comedy Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons, announced on Monday that the film had generated 990 million yuan ($158.8 million) in box office revenue since its premiere on the Chinese mainland on Feb 10.
The pretax profit Huayi Brothers could obtain from this blockbuster has reached around 196 million yuan as of the day when the announcement was released.
The stock price of the private film production company rallied after a slump in early trading on Monday, increasing more than 5 percent to 18.98 yuan.
