It also falls in line with the wishes of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, as proven by material progress made in recent years, Hu said while meeting visiting Honorary Chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) Lien Chan in the Great Hall of the People.
Hu also called on compatriots across the Strait to have faith in the adherence to the path of peaceful development, as well as a promising future for cross-Straits relations.
