The British Wellington College will open its second Chinese branch in Shanghai, following the opening of the first branch in Tianjin in 2011.
The school signed an agreement with the local government on Thursday.
The Wellington College International Shanghai will be located at Shanghai's Pudong Qiantan business area. Covering an area of about 36,000 square meters, the school can accommodate 1,500 students from kindergarten to high school.
The school, which is expected to start enrollment of its first batch of students in August 2014, will target the children of foreigners working and living in the city.
According to the school, the tuition will be similar to the fees of other leading international schools in the city.
The tuition fee at the school's Tianjin campus, its first branch in China, is about 200,000 yuan ($32,000) a year.
