A charity auction organized by the Shanghai Women's Federation, Consular Spouses Shanghai and Shanghai Children's Foundation will be held on March 7, the eve of International Women's Day.
Jewelry donated by 26 consulate generals in Shanghai and Shanghai's jewelry companies will be auctioned to raise funds for the Shanghai Children's Foundation for underprivileged children.
The nearly 100 pieces of jewelry are currently displayed at Shanghai Museum of Arts and Crafts. People wishing to view the jewelry can visit the museum for free.
"Visitors can enjoy the jewelry exhibition and it will also help promote the cultural exchange and friendship between our countries," said Krista Reinhold, president of Consular Spouses Shanghai.
"The auction will lead to a substantial contribution to the cause of helping needy women and children," she said.
