Hangzhou is hunting for a global ambassador to promote its tourism attractions, according to the Hangzhou Daily.
The job offers an annual contract with a salary of 40,000 euros ($52,160) and other benefits.
On Monday, the city, the capital of Zhejiang province, launched a "Be the Modern Marco Polo Experience Program", beginning a year-long selection process to find a foreigner to do the job.
The successful candidiate will be invited to make a 15-day free trip to Hangzhou and experience its attractions, including teahouses, silk products and traditional Chinese medicine.
The ambassador will star in a promotional video for the city, giving advice on its overseas promotion and sharing the experience on popular global social media networks.
Those interested can log onto Hangzhou's official accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or YouTube and take part in online activities to gain marks to qualify as a candidate.
The organizers will select the winner from the top 20 candidates who are most active online and score the highest marks.
