Tianzifang, a popular tourism spot in Shanghai, was listed as one of the most unsatisfactory places to visit in the city, according to local tourism authorities.
The statement was in a joint review by the Shanghai quality supervision and tourism departments, which looked at the city's hotels and tourism areas.
Tianzifang, a popular place among expats in downtown Shanghai, is an arts and crafts hub that was developed from a renovated residential area.
The review found that Tianzifang performs poorly in terms of service quality and failed to maintain operational order.
The Shanghai tourism authority said that operators of tourism spots with negative commentaries have been asked to improve. It added that it will remove its Three-A Tourism Place rating from those spots if they fail to meet the standards.
