Jiangyou, hometown of one of China's most famous poets Li Bai, is hosting the third Chinese Campus Poem Festival in July.
The city in Sichuan province will host the three-day contest, accepting submissions of unpublished Chinese works from teachers and students at all education levels from home and abroad. The deadline for submission is May 10.
China’s top poets and writers including Shu Ting, Bei Dao, and Liushahe will be part of the judging panel.
The People’s Literature Publishing House will publish a collection of the winning pieces.
Jiangyou, home to the great Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai (701-762), has been hosting the biennial event since 2005. The event was suspended for five years because of the devastating Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008.
