All the about 5,600 proposals submitted by members of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference during the first session have been assigned to relevant departments for further processing, authorities said on Tuesday.
Du Qinglin, vice-chairman of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, highlighted several requirements for the departments when handling the proposals, such as to reply to the members who raised them regardless of whether their requests can be met or not, and giving convincing reasons so that they can understand and accept the reasons behind the decisions.
For key proposals that may not be tackled within a year, Du said that those proposals should be moved into the following year's work plan, and that the departments processing them should keep the relevant CPPCC National Committee members informed of the different stages.
