Industrial companies urged to boost safety issues

Central authorities urged industrial companies nationwide to attach greater importance to work safety issues, according to an announcement published on Friday.
The government will start a campaign in June to inform the public about basic work safety tips.
Some key areas such as coal mines will be strictly checked to avoid accidents, according to an announcement jointly issued by seven ministries and commissions.
Rescue authorities are also required to improve their capabilities for emergency rescue and promote the rescuers' skills.
Traffic and firefighting authorities are also required to educate the public on work safety via various channels.
