The Beijing United Family New Hope Oncology Center signed a contract with the Beijing Cancer Hospital on Monday to serve more patients who need private care to treat and prevent cancer.

This is the first time that a private hospital in Beijing cooperates with a renowned public hospital in the field of oncology.

Derick Lau, United Family's group director of oncology, said that the center will provide cancer diagnoses and treatment that follow the guidelines of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network of the United States, which is widely recognized worldwide.

Ji Jiafu, president of the Beijing Cancer Hospital, said that the New Hope Oncology Center has great advantages in terms of both international-standard services and great medical technology.

The 2012 Cancer Registry Annual Report, released by the China Tumor Cases Registration Center earlier this year, said that an average of 7,300 people die of cancer on the Chinese mainland each day, which translates into 2.7 million cancer deaths annually.
