BOAO, Hainan - China will never close its door to the outside world, President Xi Jinping said Monday at the on-going Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2013.
China will stay committed to opening-up, an important driving force for the country's development, Xi told representatives of about 30 well-known enterprises from China and overseas at a round-table dialogue at the forum. "China will expand, deepen and widen its open economy."
He also called on foreign countries to be more open to Chinese investors.
In the past 10 years, China has fulfilled its promises to the World Trade Organization, with its business environment more open and standardized, Xi said.
"We are firmly opposed to protectionism in any form and ready to solve economic and trade differences with other countries through consultation," Xi said, "China promotes the establishment of a multilateral trade system featuring balance, win-win and development," he said.
