Some 97,000 new spaces will be allocated in Dongcheng, Xicheng, Haidian, Chaoyang, Fengtai and Shijingshan districts in the capital. Chaoyang district will get 51,000 new parking spaces, more than any other district.
A total of 5,770 car parks providing 1,521,895 parking spaces will be available in Beijing by the end of 2013, according to the statistics.
Since February 1 Beijing municipal transportation has begun evaluating workers for parking fees, and the center issues certificates to those eligible. So far, 1,820 out of 1,916 workers passed the test for 69 parking companies.
