TAIYUAN - Two people were detained Friday for a traffic accident in North China's Shanxi province that left nine people dead and 29 others injured, according to local police.
Nine people, including the drivers of both vehicles, died, and 29 others were injured when a bus and truck fell off a bridge after colliding Wednesday morning in Wenshui county.
The detainees were both managers in the passenger transport company that owns the bus involved in the accident, according to an officer with the Luliang city public security bureau.
A primary investigation found that the bus had been overloaded. At the time of the accident, it was carrying 36 people, though it had a seating capacity of 19.
