Qingdao, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, will host a series of flower-related competitions from April 25 to Oct 25 next year, during the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition, organizers said at a news conference in Shanghai on April 17.
Aimed at the promotion of the most advanced technologies of horticulture and floriculture, the competition will embody nine themes and 11 projects.
With "From the Earth, for the Earth" as its slogan, it focuses on the practicality of plants and gardening in everyday life. Visitors may figure out the best way to improve the interiors of their homes and offices through the awarded entries at the competition. The competition will also select featured flower arrangements, potted landscape and succulents.
