Shanghai residential fire kills two

Two people were killed in a fire in the Yangpu district of Shanghai on Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at 8:23 am in a five-story apartment building and was put out at about 9:30 am, according to the fire brigade.

One of the victims was an elderly woman, who died in hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
