More than two dozen people have been found living in a two-bedroom apartment in Beijing, Beijing Daily reported on Monday.
The 80-square-meter apartment is located in a residential building near the Central Business District. Twenty-five renters have occupied 26 bunk beds, the report said.
Although renters in the apartment suffer problems such as a two-hour wait for a shower, crowded, dirty conditions and fire hazards, many choose to stay.
Li Lei, 22, who works at a trading company near the CBD area, told Beijing Daily that he is willing to pay the monthly 800 yuan ($130) in rent, which could be up to 4,000 yuan if he split an apartment with one person.
