Construction began on Tuesday for a one-stop commercial, medical and logistics center in Shanghai.
The Shared Facility Center is being built as part of the Shanghai New Hongqiao International Medical Center, the latest project that aims to boost high-end medical services and technology in the city.
Located in the Minhang district, the planned area of the center covers 100 hectares.
The center will provide various services for medical institutes, including pathological research, diagnostic imaging, medicine shipment and delivery, medical waste treatment and intensive medical services.
It will also house a supermarket, restaurants, banks and learning centers.
Construction is expected to complete in 2015.
