A senior official from Jieyang city, Guangdong province, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for serious disciplinary violations.
Zheng Songbiao, former deputy mayor of the prefecture-level city, has also been transferred to the judicial department for further investigation and possible prosecution, as he was also suspected of committing financial crimes, according to a statement from Guangdong's top anti-graft body on Tuesday.
Born in September 1964, Zheng is a native of Jiedong county under the administration of Jieyang. He was director of the Jieyang city bureau of highways and director of the administrative office of Jieyang airport.
Guangdong's top anti-graft body has investigated a total of 19 prefecture-level and another 182 county-level Party and government officials in the first half of the year.
