Chinese state councilor meets US senator

BEIJING - State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with the US Senate's Foreign Relations Committee chairman Robert Menendez on Tuesday, according to a National People's Congress (NPC) press release.
The two sides exchanged views on the China-US relationship as well as international and regional issues of common concern, said the release.
Menendez is visiting China at the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the NPC.
