BEIJING -- Liu Yunshan, a top Chinese leader, attended an opening ceremony held by the Party School of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Sunday.
Liu, president of the school and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, urged efforts to ensure a "correct political direction" in publicity and ideological work at the opening ceremony of the school's 2013 fall semester.
He also called on all Party members to earnestly study the fundamental theories of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of the Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development, and to grasp remarks and instructions by President Xi Jinping.
Criticism and self-criticism should be carried out among Party members in order to maintain the Party's advanced nature and purity, Liu said.
